Sorry for not delivering the splendid piece we expected, we had some difficulties near the end of IC. But expect a completely different entry next time.
This was...actually good?I see Gab is trying out his panning skills again sniff sniff, going nice.Stayros actually had decent transitions this time, lol.Eskimo if your part is the FMAB one then good job.I'd say that everyone did terrific.
We gonna whoop some ass in the IC
One last question, why isn't this on the ENP Channel?

Thanks a lot and yes i'm trying to improve these panning techniques (apparently they weren't good in this or something like that) And we didn't have the pass for the channel, + the vid is highly copyrighted so we gotta keep the motherland safe
As told with Gabber today, i came to gave i little impression:
SAO TRACK:
0:20-0:26 the really font is really metling to the glitch TV effect. either use fusion modes (in vegas or AE) in order to melt it better, change the font to a more "tech yet appreciable to watch" one and, if possible, make the text glitch the same as the background (using "parenting") woud have make it better.
0:28 transisiton from "people " to sky" felt a bit abrupt since it doesn't have the same tracking. a simple fade or a better tracking adjustmet would have been preferable.
0:37 the dssapearing persons would have been very great in they were in sync with the song. now they're too early. it would have made a cool internal beat sync.
the fight with the red knight feels a bit too intense for the actual moment of the music. More Ambiantic scene use would have been better.
AIR GEAR TRACK:
in general, the chorus had a good sync, and scene choice was decent. Only issue i have is the actual quality of the footage. i'm pretty sure it's a upscaled 1080p since Aire Gear is a "old" anime, and you can clarly see it. Some contrast/birghtness adjust/color correction would have been cool to make it feel more clean. And when the verse starts back, the tv effect doesn't feel really necessary or interesting. :l
BRS TRACK:
The b&w cool have been coller is you kept it for ALL the "normal world" scene. some scenes at the beginning don't have it. And the noize filter doesn't make a good quality on the track, sadly.
FMA TRACK: i felt there was a huge effort from the editor on this one. scene selection isn't superb up to you, then it gets more serious in term of coherence. You tried to always have motion, which is honorable. maybe it gets a bit strong since it's the slowest part of the music. lil flash at 2:34 were correct, but the text at 2:20 was unnecessary and the rectangle transition at 2:21 were A LOT less good than your slides, who were quite good or an ic.
at 2:39 try to have your scene dezoom at the same dimension than the pocket watch. it's better for the eye, and for contest points ;). it's a work of perspective and sometimes, must be made frame by frame, but it worth it.
Some scenes add different qualities too, which were a bit dissapointing (2:42, check the smoothness of the face lines compared to your last scene).
KNK TRACK:
It's energic, too much energic. you have a lot of accelerated scenes. let the viewer appreciated the slick animations of this excellent anime, for god's sake ! XD
Also at 3:20, it feels weird to see them run into each another, you should have kept the original pursuit angle , in my opinion.
Preference for the FMA track and Air Gear as a runner-up. As for the mep in general, some quality issues, some unmastered fx/transitions. But for an IC it's nothing to be dissapoint about it. Hope the comm will help, and keep it up !

and some criticism from a judge of project org editor if you are interested
Below:
Beginning font for \"reality\" could have had more thought, looked kiddish. The color correction at :33 is a bit obvious and too cold for my tastes. It made the clips look washed out since they weren\'t as white anymore. :38-onward, the flashing effects could have been done without or been done without. That or the blurs, I\'m not sure, but there\'s a bit too much for these clips when they already have enough pacing/impact to them. The clips also look dusty with the levels. From :43-49ish, I feel the clips were a tad too fast paced, especially when taking into account that you have blurs, shakes, and levels all acting on it. There\'s a lot of frame blending, it\'s really distracting. Liking the film grain effect you have going on. The quality of this is not worthy of 1080p, it should be 480.
Second part, I don\'t like the transition to it. This is a typical flaw with MEPs that I won\'t take too much off on because it\'s my own theory. Basically, it doesn\'t look like one solid amv. It\'s an abrupt sequence of incredibly different parts. I\'m guessing the second aprt begins at :54. Assuming so, from there until 1:30. This part I thoroughly enjoyed. Again, not good quality of clips, but the pans are great, the flashes, the pacing of the entire segment, you followed the ups and downs of the song very well. Nice in keeping the film effect even with different parts. No complains.
3rd part, I like the color correction, but it doesn\'t benefit the MEP when none of the other parts have the correction. The blurs you have around 1:30 blend seamlessly into the next clips, but I still think they\'re a bit too much for the pacing of this part of the song. It\'s slowed down, but you have pans and level flashes and blur, all which works well here, but the blur I think could have been done without. Some of the pans aren\'t good, ie 1:40. The clips are too static for that much movement, and they wiggle around way too much. I like the effect at 1:42. When it picks up it\'s very well done. Nice impact, I like the flashes to the friends inbetween. It\'s a bit harsh at times there with all the black coming in and out, but it works.
Next part, great pans. The warmth of it is a reason why the coolness of the last part doesn\'t work. Some clips were extremely dark though, like 2:12, when the others weren\'t. That same effect at 2:13, I don\'t like. I discourage from people using that effect on clips, it\'s just too harsh. Some of the masked transitions were iffy, like 2:26. You have a warm clip coming onto a cool clip, it doesn\'t work. Most times it\'s good though. good flashes at 2:33.
Again bad transition. Frame blending on this next segment. Lots of impact but I have no idea wtf is happening. More randomness. At big moments like 3:12, you hardly hit those beats. could have added a lot more impact rather than just being an endless flow of action clips. Mask effect at 3:23 doesn\'t look good, the mask isn\'t feathered enough, and the color correction on the clips behind it doesn\'t blend. The ending scene was sort of anticlimatic, not really a big zoom on that last clip and it should have been most likely.
Big issues with the MEP as a whole: It\'s all random. The transitions are at good spots but the parts don\'t blend together because it\'s just one anime after the other, typical of basically all MEPS, but if you had blended the anime in somehow and really coordinated it, it would have been more enjoyable and like an AMV than an MEP. There was some color correction on one part and the rest had none, that should be coordinated. Also, it shouldn\'t be 1080p, not at all, always go with the lowest quality, which is 480. Had some really good moments in it, but it didn\'t mesh as a whole and was nothing really special.

That guy sure knows his stuff, but that extended critisism based on ones taste kills the enjoyment a MEP is supposed to provide. Expect if he is so god-like that the whole MEP looks really THAT average to him (no irony intended towards him), then it can't be helped and I hope I never reach such a high/demanding editing level. Personally, I prefer to sit back and let each part draw me in, while observing the different editing style of each editor.

I didnt think it was that average cause a general theme existed when we were doing that but ye it should be more like she said "it would have been more enjoyable and like an AMV than an MEP"...And we could have done it this way if we just added some global cc and made some clear transitions between the parts...She is right but its a bit harsher than it should be imo(at least for my part) xD

Another one recieved yesterday btw (shorter this time) xD
Spoiler:
Good: lots of clear sync... Action woo
Bad: Sometimes I couldn't see what was going on, it was a bunch of flashing at points... The upscaling didn't turn out that great... would have been better at it's native resolution.
General: overall a good/well done action video... lots of drum beat syncing and pretty well done...
Good work guys :)

I did notice it in yours tho huehue, but not because it wasn't blending good, but because in dave's clip there was a focal point (the picture in the middle) that had all of my attention every time.
