| Just an interesting idea for a topic I had while being bored. The line "This is my style" has been seen / said and used everywhere, but what is your style really? If you are to explain your style in words now how would you do it? As for me I could start by saying i'm a Raw editor, and i'm left literally speechless when told by someone that my works are too raw. My style is 50% footage treatment. ripping and preparing my footage is my top priority in AMVs. Editing wise I try to maintain solid action (my favorite category) while also making sure that every scene I use can be viewed clearly. Not going too fast, nor too slow (Can't say I have mastered the style yet) I'm always finding new means to add for better action, like Peter's suggestion of making use of the pan tool, I know I don't master them immediately, but you can see what I want to reach while editing now :) What about you? what is the "core" of ideas that you always have when starting a video? | |

| If I could describe my style with one word, it would be D33P. Nah, in reality, my style is basically raw editing with benefits. After like 2-3 years of editing with WMM, I can't say I am used to all the effects and variety advanced programms like SV or AE provide. Recently I have started to dare more complex and time consuming stuff, but I am still an average editor. What I focus on is sync (always, I have mastered that thing since I edit for 4-5 years), and maybe the only relatively rare thing is that I focus more on impact rather than flow. At least that's what I want to believe. I dare to say that I am a good AMV maker, but a mediocre editor. - Spoiler:
More topics like this and when I audition, I will just send links to threads rather than type anything

| this is an interesting topic!
Well mine is "follow the song". Create a story based on the song and find the fitting anime for it. Depending on the music track i adjust both the scenes i will use and the effects (if i will) use. I don't have a variety of effects nor masks or transitions because i think that i don't need them to make my video look good (+ masking is tiring). you can call me lazy or whatever else you want but i can assure you i am not, i prefer spending too much time watching my "raw" edits to see if anything is missing/is wrong rather than add FX and ignore everything else. (mostly i prefer admiring my videos lol :P) Lately i managed to improve my impact while maintaining the flow (you will see that in my next video uploaded). Anyway too many words for me and i think i missed the point -_-

| Hmm when i started editing (with sony vegas) i was doing about 30 sec videos (yeah i had a bad pc) full of action that included good scenes from different animes and tried to do a decent flow between these scenes and maybe add some kind of overlay to look cooler and make the colors fit better. Now i can't use footage from different animes, i don't know why, when i do an amv i take one and only anime that probably i have seen lately and liked it.So my footage is only one anime and when i edit it, i try as hard as i can to fit the lyrics with the scenes..The thing i try my best is the transition between the scenes. Lastly i want to say that in every amv i try to make a start and an ending, not a good storyline with deep meaning etc,i just try to make it complete.I don't know how my style is called, but this is what i like to do and i use almost raw footage cause you can enjoy the actual scene and not an fx spam.
(sometimes i do some maskings too :p)

| I always try to have good flow and have a song that fits the anime that I'm editing and i personally like raw editing , I only use fx when i can't find good masks for transitions. | |

| I dont even know how to describe it...Hmmmm lets say i like to follow the dynamics of the song and the only effects I use are for the sake of colour correction and transitioning. Pan crop is my only real friend in vegas xD | |
