well you can Ctrl + Z x as many times as you want (lol) but no seriously. You can right click any point of the mask and click delete (all selected) it'll remove everything so you can re-do it.
Well you need to be careful and see what tool you're using. the pen tool will only be able to add an anchor point and/or make curves to an already existing point, while as soon as you click on the move tool you will see that there is a box formed around the mask, you can move the mask by moving the big box surrounding it. If you click outside the box it'll disappear, and you'll be able to move 1 specific anchor point of the mask by clicking on its location after the box is gone.

if simply pressing CTRL + Z is only working once for you, you can click on the curved arrow pointing backwards in the toolbar on top. Once you do that you'll be having a drop menu of every step you made during your entire working session. You can scroll down till the stage that you want and click on it, it'll get rid of everything.

In the pan/crop window, ctrl+z works only once for me as well, BUT you can click on the original Vegas window and ctrl+z, it will work by undoing the last thing you changed in pan/crop ;)

smooth? if by that you mean just better overall

then just zoom in closer and use more dots ;3 well that's what I do, most people use curves but I'm too much of a hipster for that.

I know i'll regret this. but try going to feather > Both, and add maybe 1% or 0.7% or just experiment with feather in general

I meant "feather" in general Lol. Its a feature you find on the left side of the pan/crop screen while you're masking

1. you can temporarily switch to the zoom tool by pressing ctrl+mouse-wheel

2. if you decide to change the tool by clicking on it then before you go back to the mask tool you gotta select the last anchor point while on zoom-tool
