For external HDD i would propose 1TB...500GB ones get full a little bit fast...especially if you have OnePiece in them which is about 150-200 GB...And about this specific one,Platinum has good external HDDs...I recommend them along with Verbatim and Western Digital...

Yeah, louftos knows what he's saying :troll
tell her about how they all keep overheating on you and how you lost some of them.

I don't think an external can be used as a permanent plugged-in HDD(there are some irregularities),unless you're looking an external to plug in do you job and plug it out, just for storage.
And yes, better put some more money on the table and get a 1TB HDD,you won't regret it.

in my opinion it's better to buy an "Icy box" or whatever that is called (the thing that can connect an external HDD (by USB) to your pc) and buy internal HDDs... they are far cheaper and in the same price you get double storage space ;)

check that out

You can buy a 2TB internal HDD and plug it into the Icy Box then connect it to your pc and use it as external ;)

P.S. an Icy box costs around 50euros in my country... imagine how much you can save by not buying external HDDs ;) (and think that you can always connect it directly to your motherboard :P)
