Sony vegas 11 not opening

Until yesterday vegas was working like always.But then my laptop decided to start updating stuff just to piss me off.So now vegas is not working at all.When I try to open it I get the message "vegas pro has stoped working" 
Does anyone know how to fix this or I need to delete it and reinstall it?

windows usually stores a backup file after an update, so perhaps you can try reverting the update, and see if vegas works, if it still doesn't you should probably re-install.
