Status: Ongoing.
This manga went to be my absolute favorite from the 1st chapter I read. The art is amazingly detailed, and I can assure you that if you've read berserk and liked it, you might want to check this one out. 30+ pages per chapter, and all the pages are colored. + I promise it is all about the progress of the story, so many chapters and pages, with a guarantee of 0 annoying fillers.

Storyline: it evolves around the ancient Shang dynasty, which used to consists of China and parts of korea (I'm not that good with History and geography, but i'm sure I got this part right). The so called "Gods" rule over the human world, and force humans to pay their tributes, and even sacrifice live. Humans lived with that for decades and centuries, until Emperor Zhou reveals his true intentions of overthrowing the Gods that have oppressed humanity for so long. Causing a war between the forces of heaven and earth, and accepting to carry the fate of the entire humanity on his shoulders, and on the outcome of his dreadful battle with the Gods.
This synopsis was made for the sake of not containing any spoilers, but I assure you that that the events and everything you read is under the possibility of changing 180 degrees later on. Which gives extra points to this series since you can never get bored of it.
Protagonist: Emperor Zhou. His father started the revolution against the Gods, but couldn't stand for too long. His army of strong men was exterminated with ease by the Gods' extra ordinary power. His life however was spared, and he was given a 2nd chance. Which he decided to use in order to plant the future of humanity into his son.
Antagonist: The type of conflict in this story is a "man vs society" but having a society referring to the realm of the Gods, and the Humans supporting the realm. Basically the antagonist is not a fixed person, but a vast variety of villains with different values and personalities, and perhaps even different goals, while being under the same banner.
Why should you read this manga?
I highly recommend it for anybody that appreciates an original story full of suspense. the pattern of events are Action followed by an unexpected turns of events followed by action again, what would leave the reader in suspense and anticipation for the next chapter.
You don't appreciate so much action? I still recommend it for you. the series is very well planned, and there is a bit of calm/romantic atmosphere whenever the action lasts for too long, that's for the sake of comic relief.
